love | the sweetest thing

I am wary of turning this into a blog that is entirely about the Texan (although I did somehow manage to avoid the T-word in yesterday's post, so I figure he is about due for another mention), but I wanted to rave about him just a little today because ... well, I love him and all I ever want to do is tell people about what a sweet and beautiful man he is :)

So.  Although we talk on a daily basis, the weekends are when the Texan and I really go all out on Skype and try to get as much face-to-face time as humanly possible (current record: 21 hours [total, not in a row!]).  I honestly don't know what we would do without it, apart from lose our minds completely.  Anyway, today we started a call at 1.30am Sunday, Sydney time (10.30am Saturday, Texas time), talked for around an hour and then I started to zone out, because apparently I am an old woman who can't keep her eyes open beyond 2.30am.  Over the next five or so hours, I drifted in and out of sleep, and yet whenever I woke up, the Texan was there ... surfing the internet, or reading, or processing photos - ready to talk to me in my delirious, sleepy state or simply say "hey, I love you" before I passed out again.  Every single time, I opened my eyes and saw him save for one occasion when I woke up to a handwritten note that advised "TAKING A SHOWER," the memory of which still makes me laugh.  I finally woke up properly at around 7.30am and then we talked for awhile longer before each getting out of our respective apartments for awhile prior to our scheduled afternoon Skype Date.  It was, hands down, the sweetest thing anyone has ever done for me and it makes me kind of emotional to think about it, because I realise just how much he loves me.  I mean, five hours just to be by my side the only way he could while I am sleeping?  Amazing.  I can't wait until he is next to me for real (just over five weeks to go!).

Anyway, I need to head to bed a little earlier tonight so that ... you guessed it ... I can get up to talk to the Texan before I go to work tomorrow morning :)

D - I love you with all my heart.  Thank you for being the best, sweetest boyfriend ever. xx
