I am not a person who can spend inordinate amounts of time in museums and galleries. I don't know why, I'm just not (in contrast, D has said that he just is. I'm not sure what we are going to do during our travels later this year! We may just need to agree on a course of action for when I start getting antsy and he wants to linger). I do love artwork, and sculptures in particular, but I don't really hang around. I'm more of a look-briefly marvel-photograph-move on kind of girl. That being said, however, the Vatican Museums in Rome were pretty incredible to see. Unbelievably ornate and the architecture is simply stunning. And, of course, that spiral staircase ...

Your pictures are stunning Natasha, love your writing too...
The paintings on the ceilings and walls are astonishingly beautiful not least when you consider the nightmarish positions the artists must have been in to paint them!
I often feel that way about museums, I am always happier in galleries and it is the exact opposite with Mr.Lane...so we humour one another and try to over enthuse...you know how it goes, sweet really when you think about it!

i have a tendency to get bored after an hour at museums, not because they're not interesting, i just need regular breaks. lachlan on the other hand can stay there all day!
your photos are gorgeous, i can see why you were able to spend hours there :)
I am totally with you .. marvel, photograph and move on for sure! Lovely shots of the Vatican! Oh how I miss my sigma 10-20mm. :( Going full frame meant I had to part with her.
I love your travel posts, such a beautiful place. I tend to be one of the faster ones in a group, too. :)
