hey, universe ...

It's kinda weird how things happen sometimes. Do you believe in signs? I am in two minds about them. The rational part of me (which is admittedly quite small) says pffft, but the rest (ie overwhelming majority) of me is all ooh, maybe ...? I can't help it. My family is southern Italian on one side and Russian on the other, so it was practically inevitable that I would grow up to read alarming things into seemingly normal occurrences and avoid stuff like saying goodbye to someone under the threshold because otherwise one of us will die (I always either pull D into the foyer or push him back into the apartment when I farewell him in the mornings, much to his amusement), never putting pillows on the table because, well, somebody will die and, wherever possible, not having the foot of the bed facing a doorway or a window, because otherwise Death (are you detecting a theme here?) will have super easy access to drag you out by your ankles and apparently you have a much better chance of it leaving you alone if it has to go to the effort of manoeuvering you around a corner.

Hm wow, it looks totally ridiculous when I write it down like that.

But anyway, that's actually not at all what I wanted to go on about today.

What I really wanted to say was that over the past week or so, I have received a bunch of (what I'm going to call) signs - good ones! - that could not have come at a better time, and which have managed to tip me from endlessly contemplating to doing.  I choose to see them as little nudges from the universe :)  I have no idea of how it's all going to work out just yet as my plans are very much in the formative stages, but it's exciting and scary and cool, all rolled into one, and I can't wait to share more with you once things have progressed a little further.  D is being fabulous, even if he is constantly subjected to half-formed sentences like "hey babe, I was thinking that maybe ..."  The ridiculous thing is that if I trail off and he doesn't ask "what?" I feel a little miffed, but even if he does ask, I only ever say "oh, nevermind."  The poor man.

So ultimately, this turned out to be a kind of nothing post! but hopefully you at least like the picture :)

  2. yes! I love the picture and as for those signs, whilst being the cynical type on the exterior I am a sucker deep down. Magpie is a great teller of fortunes and believer of signs. When we first drove to Sussex to see the Lane I was listening to Ma Fleur..."to build a home" and I had THAT moment and I knew...Sounds like there are some exciting things in the pipeline...ride the wave...

  3. I do believe in signs! For the most part, anyway - sometimes I think just about anything could be read into and interpreted to suit. But, yes. Signs. Signs have been flying at me from every direction over the last couple of weeks, including your comment on an old post of mine just a week or so ago (and I still owe you a reply, the letter-writer thing is still making me chuckle).

Am very, very excited for you. I hope it - whatever it is - comes together as you hope.

  4. Natasha, you cannot write all these things without revealing at least a little bit. I'm so curious now!

  5. It is a gorgeous picture. Signs are great as they can help us determine in one way or another the best path to take or route to follow even if it's to avoid the bad.

Good luck with - well I'm not sure - but good luck nonetheless.

It really is a gorgeous picture,

  10. Hi Nat, Well, I love the picture and I can relate to all the rest. I am tremendously superstitious. Signs, portents, all those things. Not pillows on the table but, still. I hope all your good signs come to reality and can't wait to see how your plans develop. xo
